• Studio and 1 bed flats: always one trip, usually with room to spare.

• 2 bed flats: one trip in almost every case.

Lifts, stairs and no lift at all

Access shapes a flat move more than anything else. Tell us what to expect and we plan around it.

• Service and goods lifts. Many blocks ask you to book the lift and a moving slot. Check with your concierge or managing agent, and we'll arrive within that slot.

• No lift. We regularly carry full flats up and down three, four and five floors. Wardrobes and beds come apart where they won't fit the stairwell.

• Narrow corridors and doorways. We wrap and protect furniture, door frames and banisters.

Parking and loading

Parking is the other big one, especially in the city centre and around the universities.

• Tell us where the van can stop at both addresses, and how far it is to the entrance.

• If there's a loading bay, check whether it needs booking.

• If your street has permit parking, ask your council or managing agent about a visitor permit or bay suspension. We'll advise on what's usually needed.

Flat removals in Birmingham: your questions

Do I need to book the lift before moving day?

In many apartment blocks, yes. Ask your concierge or managing agent whether you need to book the service lift and a moving slot, and tell us the times when you book.

Can you move my flat if there's no lift?

Yes. We carry furniture and boxes up and down stairs every week, including fourth and fifth-floor flats. Tell us the floor number so we allow the right time.

Will my 2 bed flat fit in one van?

Almost always. A 16m³ Luton holds the contents of a typical 2 bed flat. Send photos if you have a lot of large furniture and we'll confirm before you book.

What about parking at a city-centre apartment?

Tell us where the van can stop at both addresses. Many blocks have a loading bay or set moving times; check with your building and we'll plan around them.

Do you dismantle beds and wardrobes?

Yes. Tell us which items when you book, and we'll take them apart, wrap the fittings and rebuild them at your new flat.

Can you move just one or two items?

Yes. We move single items like sofas, beds and appliances to and from flats across Birmingham.

Are you insured?

Yes. We carry Goods in Transit, Public Liability and Hire and Reward insurance. Ask if your building needs proof of cover before moving day.
