What Our Local Customers Say
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ "Commercial Kitchen Move Exceeded Expectations!"
"Absolutely brilliant service from Shift It – Man and Van. They moved my entire commercial kitchen from one location to another, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect, but they completely exceeded it. From start to finish they just got on with everything and handled it all for us. It’s a father-and-son business, and they were both incredibly friendly, calm, and professional. There were a few challenges along the way, but nothing phased them, they smashed every single one and kept smiling throughout (which I hugely admired, because I probably would’ve lost my head!). I’m 100% happy with the service and would absolutely recommend them to anyone. I’ve been telling everyone all day how brilliant they were" — Verity C.

Frequently Asked Questions - Shift It Man and Van Removals Birmingham
How much does a man with a van cost in Birmingham?
Our local furniture moves start from £45. House and flat removal quotes depend on the belongings being moved, distance, stairs, lifts and parking access. Send your moving date, both postcodes and a list or photos of your items by WhatsApp, and we’ll confirm the price or applicable hourly rate before you book.
Is it cheaper to hire a van or a man and van?
Hiring a van yourself can cost less if you can manage the driving, loading and unloading. Remember to include fuel and any equipment you need. Our service includes a two-man team, a Luton van with a tail lift, protective blankets, straps and trolleys, so you have help with the lifting and transport.
How far in advance should I book a man with a van?
Book a man with a van as soon as your moving date is confirmed, particularly for weekends, month-end moves and busy student moving periods. Booking early gives you a better choice of dates and times. At Shift It Man and Van Removals, we also accept short-notice and same-day bookings when our schedule allows.
What day is the cheapest for removals?
Some removal companies offer lower prices on quieter weekdays, but at Shift It Man and Van Removals, our rates are the same every day of the week. Your quote depends on the move itself, including your belongings, distance and property access, so choose the day that suits you best.
Do you offer long-distance removals from Birmingham to London?
Yes. We provide removals from Birmingham to London and other destinations across the UK, provided either collection or delivery is within our local service area. Our two-man team handles loading, transport and unloading. Send us both postcodes, your moving date and details of your belongings for a tailored quote.
Do you offer same-day or short-notice removals?
Yes, we frequently handle urgent same-day and short-notice moves across Birmingham and the West Midlands, including flat moves, small house removals, office relocations, and student moves. Availability subject to schedule.
Are you fully insured for house and flat removals?
Yes. We carry Goods in Transit, Public Liability and Hire & Reward insurance. Contact us if you would like details of the cover and limits before booking.
Which areas of Birmingham and the West Midlands do you cover?
We are based in Longbridge, South Birmingham, and provide local removal services across all Birmingham postcodes, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Bromsgrove, Redditch, Halesowen, Dudley, and the wider West Midlands. We also handle longer-distance moves across the UK as long as either the pickup or delivery is in our local service area.
What vehicle do you use for moves?
We operate a 16 cubic metre Luton van equipped with a tail lift, making it ideal for efficient flat and house moves, bulky furniture transport, and secure stacking.
Can you move large furniture items like sofas and wardrobes?
Yes. We regularly handle heavy, awkward, and fragile items, including bulky sofas, wardrobes, beds, appliances, single-item eBay deliveries, and specialist upright pianos. We also offer professional furniture dismantling and reassembly services.
Do you offer services for students?
Yes, we provide flexible student removals tailored for University of Birmingham and Birmingham City University students moving into halls, shared houses, or short-term lets in Selly Oak, Edgbaston, Harborne, and the city centre.
